In June 2014, DG ECHO launched a call for proposal for overall 6 meuro for actions aimed at increasing the beneficiaries’ capacity to ensure proper flood risk management at national, regional and EU levels, with specific regard to increasing beneficiary countries’ capability to develop effective national civil protection systems and collaborate in a coherent manner in dealing with floods at regional and European level (both at preparedness and response level.
The Programme has been dived into 2 lots, the first focusing on civil protection modules Flood rescue using boats, the second focusing on civil protection modules High capacity pumping and flood containment.
An international consortium led by the Italian Civil Protection Department, supported by Eutalia, and composed of administrations and partners from Germany, Croatia, Slovenia and Sweden, has been awarded the contract from implementing both lots.
Eutalia is in charge of all programme financial and logistics management, including with regards to training, exercises, events and the procurement and notation of flood rescue boats and equipment and high capacity pumps and flood containment facilities and related equipment.
