The twinning project Support to enhance the organisation and governance of the Institute, strengthen its capacity for data collection, epidemiological analysis and monitoring, and improve its emergency response for communicable diseases and cross-national threats is implemented by the Italian National Institute of Health, acting as main partner, in collaboration with CSI Piemonte (mandated body) as technical partner specialized in the field of digitalisation (act. 2.4) and Eutalia acting as General Management Mandated Body in charge of the financial and administrative implementation of the project.
The main counterpart is represented by the Albanian Institute of Public Health.
The overall objective of the project is to support Albania in improving its ability to recognise and respond to public health emergencies, including serious public health threats of cross-border relevance.
The project has two specific objectives:
- the strengthening – in line with EU acquis, EU standards and International Health Regulations – of the epidemiological surveillance system of communicable diseases in Albania
- the improvement, in line with the EU acquis, of the prevention, monitoring, reporting management system and capacities on communicable diseases in public and private laboratories, clinics and hospitals
The project is composed of two components, with a budget of 250,000 euros and a duration of 8 months.
